So long, and thanks for all the dish...

As you've probably already noticed, I've been taking a hiatus from low-carb blogging and board posting for some time as I get through some projects I've been putting off to the side for too long. I completed my final promise to review a book for the Eades', who have been a huge force in the low-carb world, and are worth rediscovering (in my never so humble opinion).

Low-carb never really dies on the vine, never morphs with the popularity of the food pyramid and the AHA, never caves to convention. Low-carb is like the lip-pierced future business mogul someone might snicker at and then come to respect as the vision matures and grows. As many of us are second generation Atkins kids by now, raising up our third generation, so, too, are we coming into our own.

People aren't laughing out loud anymore. Sure, they might scratch their heads, wonder, "Can I really live without wheat? Rice? Potatoes?" Some might still believe that Dr. Atkins died from his food lifestyle--but then, these are the last dying vestiges of a world clamoring to hang onto what the food lobbyists and vegans have proclaimed for decades. Meat kills. Wheat cures ills.

Low-carb perseveres. Through terrorist attacks, through recession, through whatever the future holds. It hangs tight during the sways and changes of the media, medicinal fashions of the week, and marketing ploys for 'healthier', ready to heat and eat processed foods.

It holds tough even when the voices of support silence themselves for awhile.

Between homeschooling my autistic kiddo, community responsibilities, and some pretty fricken' sweet opportunities I'm being given, I'm not doing much of a service by intermittently posting here or there in an effort to continue to pay it forward to the low-carb community.

And I've never been much of a multi tasker.

Please note the recipes I'm leaving on the blog for the low-carb community to continue to enjoy. Please share the links so that others might be able to enjoy them, too. Note only to those it applies to: Please don't pull recipes and post them to your sites for pageviews or personal purposes. This has been a problem lately and is very disrespectful. It's not like I'm making money over here. It won't kill you some of you to link back for the effort I've put into these recipes at no cost to you. /Guilt

Will I be back someday? Oh, you can bet on that. Until we meet again, whether it's on Facebook (Jamie VanEaton), in life, or in the afterlife, keep it real. You're your best asset and the reason I do what I do.

Please keep in touch if you want to drop me a line now and then about how you're doing. It's always about you, baby! It's about you, the lifestyle, the promise of a healthier nation. I've just been along for the ride.

You're the sexiest, most hip, most intelligent, most amazing readers and friends a girl with incredible taste in footwear could possibly ever have.

Peace, mah BBs!

With (totally socially acceptable and not awkward) love,

Still I understand the need to stop spreading yourself so thin. Take care and hopefully you'll let us know when you come back/publish a book/or whatever!

I'll echo everyone else in thanking you for all you've given to the LC community. Personally, you saved me from a lifetime of soy powders and wheat gluten. Ew.

Speaking of which, I've seen what you're talking about with the recipe-posting and was disgusted by it. I will never do that to you. I will, however, be storing some of your recipes in my Accu-Chef software (completely off-line), since they seem to involve real ingredients 90+ percent of the time--which means the software isn't going to go "OMGWTFLOLBBQ?????" and choke up when it's supposed to do a nutrition analysis. :P But it all helps with meal-planning, so...

Wahhhhh!.....We'll Miss you here, but I know I'll be seeing you around the boards. Remember to pop into the 24K Challenge at Jimmy's and leave some inspirational words for me. LOL I feed off of praise.

May God bless you in all you do. You will be greatly missed - your talent, your wonderful sense of humor - you! Thank you for the cookbook reviews you did for me. Hope you will still put together your own low-carb cookbook.

I am not on Facebook.

You are special - just remember that!

For the visually-challenged among us, did that ultra-small print say one couldn't print out your recipes for personal use? My computer is not in the kitchen and I can't make a dish running back and forth to the computer. Thanks for clarifying.

Thanks so much for being so sweet!

anonymous-- please feel free to print and personally use any recipes that zip your bip! Heaven knows, I reprint them all the time because I keep losing them.

They are for your use. I just want to make sure they don't fall into the hands of evildoers.

Muahahahaha!

Paying it forward doesn't mean paying the way for others, if you know what I mean, so I appreciate that people are still asking for permission when they want to republish something.

It's like shareware. It's there for the community to use for personal, non-profit reasons.

Say it ain't so!!!!!

*sigh* okay, I understand your reasons, (insert encouraging, supportive words here)

But right now I'm pouting! I check your blog daily; girl, your recipes and your funny, quirky, cheery, encouraging words have kept me sane and my tummy satisfied!! We are SO going to miss you, but you'd better believe I'm looking you up on FB! =)

Thanks for everything, seriously, I know a lot of work has gone into what all you've shared with us, and we appreciate it.

Much love and oopsies!!

Wishing you the very best. From all of us. Thanks for leaving the blog behind for us to amble through when we need an oopsaloopsie fix of you. Will be lurking and prowling about. Truly, though, spread your beautiful wings and flutter-fly onwards to spread goodness in all your endeavors, as you have in the LC world. Thanks for fighting the good fight.

I am sorry to see you go. Thanks for sharing yourself. May you be blessed. Please come to Twitter. Only takes a second to post something.

You've given us all so much of yourself, it's only fair we let you give more time and energy to your family and yourself. But it doesn't mean we have to like it.
I've loved your recipes, but it's your humor I will miss the most. I'm already friended on facebook, so I'll be seeing you on my homepage!
May God bless you and your family with wonderful things. Take care, keep the humor and keep the low carb torch burning bright.
Hugs,
Vikki

Jamie- You don't know me, I only lurk at LCF. I want to tell you two things I've noticed about your posts are that you are a hell of a writer and you seem to have an amazing, bright spirit. Good luck with whatever opportunities are going on in your RL & hope to see you sometime on the forum.

I am sad to see you go but I had to post a comment to tell you thank you for all of your efforts and best of luck in whatever you do!
