Looks like potatoes, and is close enough to fool your kids... but these are turnips!
Top: A 10" casserole serves 8 people. Bottom: served with fresh chives from my garden (his name is Hamilton), dill chicken, and green beans.

Oooh, great idea! I had turnip fries the other night, and can use my remaining uncooked turnips for this. Thanks!
I'm very excited to try this recipe! I tried making a similar recipe with zuchinni and it was a wet mess...

Make sure you cook the turnips until they turn soft!
One of the great discoveries I've made concerning turnips is that they turn to mush in frying oil, but they take the full time to cook in the oven to soften.
Little buggers.
Wow, this looks great. I was wondering what turnips are for.
I have NEVER tried turnips before. But doing LC I've expanded my horizons and this recipe was how I tried turnips out. I wanted cheesy potatoes sooo bad! And you know what? These were AWESOME! (*all hail Cleo!!*) It was a great intro to those lil suckers and now I have a new favorite food!
Wow Jamie! TY again for another delish low carb recipe. These are really tasty! Really have that potato texture and taste good to boot! was worth the agony of trying to slice the turnips LOL
I am going to try this tonight. Until I can find the thickenthin/no starch in my area, do you think unflavored geletin will do the trick?
