50 pounds in *about* 10 weeks

It's close to dinner.

Edited: I added the real pictures with my ugly head there on top. I call it, "When good Atkineers go REALLY Bad".

:oO

Don't look at this picture if you have a weak stomach. I put happy oopsie rolls over my face to protect the guilty of snacking (not-so-innocent). (Plus I have bad hair and don't want to look at my ugly mug.)

Note the slight lessening of the butt shelf. Also, instead of a 4X I'm now in a 2X. That shirt in the first picture was a tight 4X! (I should also clarify that these are men's sizes, which may differ from women's sizes-- people are telling me that at my beginning weight they were closer to a 6X in women's). So, I could be a fatter woman than man, size-wise. I guess.

It's ridiculous, but I'm disclosing pictures of my butt for you all to see. If you see small dots, those are satellites orbiting my hips. I have gravitational pull.

Fifty pounds doesn't look like much. (This is what happens when you allow yourself to hork too many Little Debbie snacks. )

*** Note: My friend 2big says that I should have taken my picture with the exact stance in the second picture, and I agree! I didn't realize my legs were slightly apart in the beginning pictures. It's because my legs were so fat I couldn't get them together!

**Dislcaimer. I suck at phototapestry! I chopped off part of my butt in the right picture (still woohoo! I'll bet that was worth a pound of fat). I'll try again in the next 50 pounds to do a better job. I promised pictures and this keeps me accountable.

***real picture put in and OMG! 2big is smart alecking me in emails to show my real face because she's sure you guys are going to think I'm Kimmering my stats.

So look, and think, "she's fugly". I know already. I don't want to hear about it.

I just wanted to say you're my new hero :) I started at 1 pound lighter then you and you're kickin' my arse! Good for you! I'm excited to have found this blog and look forward to making some awesome lower carb food :D

cleochatra said...

Oh, nawwww you don't!

To be truthful, I'd lost 115 pounds between 2004-2005, and then proceeded to regain all of it, plus 25 pounds, and am having to start all over again after being a fatbutt for all of 2007.

You're the cool girl!

I'm so glad you found me! I want to hear about your progress, too.

We're all in this together.

Jamie

Wow, Jamie, that is progress! You are an exceptional person to share the before and after pictures of your Oopsie cousin's weight loss journey. So how about pictures of you?;)

The kids are begging for pizza tonight so I'm going to try the crust using zukes.

Thanks again for the low carb kitchen experiments.

cleochatra said...

LOL. You get no face shots until it looks slightly less fat. And my hair looks better. (Both are abysmal right now).

Plus I think the oopsies are hilarious. They're so happy.

Let me know how your zuke pizza comes out!

I see a huge difference! What is nice is that it is coming down evenly. You go girl! I'll be looking here as well for some inspiration. I'm working on putting together a site of primarily recipes, and I hope you'll let me include some of yours! I just restarted myself. I have about 40, but after KK I have to be careful. My instinct is to start cutting calories - but you are an inspiration that it can be done all in good time and you can eat plenty too! I'm a total foodie. Thanks for sharing some great stuff.

YOU GO GIRL !! Two whole sizes smaller ~ WOO WOO !! I'm totally in awe of you !! But I'm just wondering, is that what happens when you eat too many Oopsie Rolls? You actually become what you eat ?? ;) And it starts from the head down ?? ;) Yikes !! :)
You are a crack-up ~ thanks for the daily laughs and inspiration!!

HB

...er... Cleo I can see your face on the pics. And I have a set of pics that look just like these but more embarrassing because I'm in underwear.... yikes!

BamaGal said...

Gal you look awesome!!!

and so does your oopsie cousin.....

did you have your hair in a bun(no pun intended) in the first pic or has the loverly high fat low carb life made your hair grow too...

2BIG said...

woo hoo cleo looking great there.
congrats on shrinking. see with your cute faces nobody can say you were using a body double.

and if my math is correct you have 10 more weeks to shed 7 more pounds to pass Kimkins.com

Kimmer (I don't use lost cause nobody wants those pounds found and returned do they?)

cleochatra said...

avenue-- I hear you about doing the right thing plan-wise. It's easy to fall into old plans, but Atkins works--and quickly! I know I'm like gacking at my progress pictures, but I'm losing at a quick pace and enjoying things like pizza.

Be my pizza pal!

Lub, Jamie

PS. You can use the recipes, sure! I'm paying it forward like the REAL cooks out there (Linda Sue and Kevin)

cleochatra said...

oh. And Sugar-Free Sheila. she gives folks recipes, too!

(Didn't want to forget my gorgeous boopie)

cleochatra said...

lol hummingbird-- I do eat oopsies, and they say you are what you eat. But I picture my oopsies as happy.

Food is happy.

ooohhh happyyy food...

cleochatra said...

jenna-- OH PLEASE! You are so pretty, you make Angelina jealous. Get out with your bad self.

I want to look like you when I'm half the woman I used to be...or am... whatever...

cleochatra said...

LOL Bama-- I do! I wear my hair in a bun. It's gotten freaking long. I need to cut it off, but usually wait until there's enough to donate to those wigs-for-cancer places. (I usually donate to Wigs for Kids).

Too bad I can't donate to the "Bama is too skinny and needs some of my fat" fund.

cleochatra said...

LOL 2big. Because we all know that's a Russian model in those bottom pictures.

(Kidding! And laughing really hard)

(You know why)

Tara said...

Good for you!
Even your arms and neck are smaller!
And you look cute - just google "celebs without makeup" and you will see you are cute. :)
(That's what I do whenever I feel uncute, and it seems to work. heehee.)
Also, I totally love Sugar Free Sheila, too.

cleochatra said...

tara-- Thanks for the bright side.

I'll check out the celebrities sans makeup!

You also reminded me of the bad plastic surgery website. Nothing cries out, "I look better than that!" like rhinoplasty-gone-wrong, I always say.

You are paying it forward, I feel blessed to be here!

O.K. I found my old Atkins Book:
"Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution"
It's pretty old!
I also found
"Dr. Atkins New Diet Cookbook"

I like the recipes here much better.

I will start re-reading it tonight, if I remember correctly diet soda was o.k., but I ave found out that the sweeteners we commonly use are actually making us fat, yes it's true. So I have just ordered some "Stevia"....

I met a sweet 18 year girl on SP, 5'1" 230 pounds... I have asked her to come here. She feels like giving up, but she has never tried Atkins!

I hope she shows, I know you're blog will encourage her.

Oh I forgot to ask you...

I just startted using cold milled flaxseed, omg you just can't know, what you don't know... this stuff is unbelievably fantastic.

I can continue using it while on Atkins...yes?

You look great! Congratulations on your weight loss!

cleochatra said...

Carolyn-- thanks for your feedback on the pizza (and the cute story) and for your faith in my ability to win it all on Biggest Loser!

I probably would have hit Jillian at some point. "I gotcher leg lift right here!"

I don't think I would have made it on the show for a long time, especially after posting bail.

cleochatra said...

sheena! Thank you for the tears. I had tears posting it because my eyes were watering looking at how fat I still am!

I appreciate your kind words, and support. I am more motivated than ever to lose the weight now.

cleochatra said...

Thank you, cutie! I will think of something to blame you for soon. You're always to blame for something, you little pixie!

:^O

cleochatra said...

Thank you, Medusa! I admit I want to show folks how legitimate weight loss with a well-known plan can work wonders.

I don't think people should have to live unrealistically to lose weight.

Regardless of low-carb plan, there is something safe out there for everyone which should yield these kinds of results!

cleochatra said...

Blue-- You humble me. I'm just a schlub who likes to eat pizza!

The New Diet Revolution limits diet beverages since aspartame stalls roughly 25% of the population, but since it doesn't stall me, I use it.

Your mileage may vary...

Good on you for checking the books! I always find I've missed something every time I go back and read.

cleochatra said...

Blue-- You are supposed to keep flax seed meal to 1 Tbsp per day and in case of regularity issues.

I eat it every so often in a flax cracker, but if you make a habit of it you won't be liking life very much.

(Ask me about the flax cereal incident of 2007 sometime)

cleochatra said...

Hey, Dave!

Thank you! You've kicked my butt with your weight loss to be sure! You're an inspiration to a lot of people!

My Atkins is stricter, but not 100%. I drink diet soda (aspartame doesn't stall me), and if I eat a crouton I don't have a coronary (but I try not to make it a daily thing).

For the most part I'm strict, with occasional off-plan meals (once a month or less). Though those are becoming few and far between with all of the recipes folks make available.

cleochatra said...

sherrie-- Thank you, and LOL! Could you even imagine? I can't imagine lying to people about my butt. You can't hide it. It's everywhere.

cleochatra said...

Thank you, thorngren! I appreciate your kind words!

cleochatra said...

ew-- 14 in 5 weeks is astounding! --especially eating pizza. Who couldn't love that? You're doing GREAT!

cleochatra said...

sheridan-- You done made me blush. Thank you. :)

OMG, Jamie! You look great! I know it's hard for you to see, but you are making great progress! Put more thought into how far you've come rather than how far you have to go. I know from experience that when you have a lot of weight to lose, it becomes overwhelming. Almost to the point of 'why bother?' You have inspired so many people with your info, humor, and inspiring story. Keep up the great work!! Hugs ~ Theresa P.S. I too have the shelf butt! I used to joke that it was a way for me to carry an extra plate when eating at the Chinese buffet :)

I just found your blog through a low-carb discussion on an online parenting community (actually, it's a no-grain thread, but most of us are doing no-sugar and low carbs in general). I'm doing this for health (I feel better and am hoping to deal with some hormonal fertility issues to get pregnant again) but I'm so impressed with your journey! You look great.

I'm in Wisconsin (a suburb of Milwaukee) and I especially love your references to the state. And your sense of humor reminds me a lot of my sister's (she is also a writer).

All this to say that I'm throughly enjoying your blog and will be rooting you on from here in (still frigid) Wisconsin.

Congrats! You are doing a GREAT job! I am glad you posted those pics because your headshot does not show your weight. You don't carry it in your face. I can see great differences in your before and during pics.

I want to thank you for your hilarious and inspiring site, and also for the link to Sugar Free Sheila. I have similar size and weight issues to hers, so that has been good for me because I can relate to her situation.

Hey, and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the oopsies. I think they must be laced with something (besides Splenda) because they are so darn addictive!

I got some friends hooked on them, too! I made them while on vacation! I didn't deviate from the plan thanks to you!!! :0)

Keep up the great work! You look great, and your going to do so much for your health!

cleochatra said...

Marla-- thank you so much for being so supportive! You are always a bright light at LCF and I enjoy your recipes and your positive attitude!

mary-- It's a little disconcerting, especially when I could have at least done my hair. sheesh. It's a miracle I get out of the house at all! (I owe you an email or three and will be sending!)

sweeteater-- thank you so much!

Theresa-- LOL!! You have me cracking up at the butt buffet visual!!!

anynymous who is starting low-carb-- KEEP ME POSTED! I want to know how you are doing! Otherwise I will give you guilt. It will be unspoken, but oh--it will be there...

:o)

frisco-- thank you for being so sweet and understanding!

Linda-- you can do it! And today is Spring, so how is exciting is that? There's even more motivation.

newmama-- On Wisconsin! Woohoo! Thanks so much for your very sweet words! I wish you all the best in your journey. Keep me posted on your progress!

Regina-- thank you so very very much! Thanks for all you do for the low-carb community! You are like the pinnacle of know-stuff-ness and helpfulness to others. Taking the time for you to congratulate me means a lot.

anonymous-- Thank you!!! I think the next 50 pounds will be much more telling. MUCH. That's why I really hesitated with these pictures. You really can't tell there was much of a loss. I do know that next time I'm going to do something with my hair. sheesh!

tracy-- The real me is pretty fuggo right now, but I am feeling so much better physically! Physically I feel so much more energetic. Like my son's armpits (you should hear the sounds he makes with them). Thank you for your support!

honeybee- LOL!! I loved the oopsie rolls on my face. I had to eat my way out, of course.

Andrea-- WO! Thank you! I appreciate the compliment very much! I am mentally sending you cookies right now (low-carb cookies)...

anonymous-- Thank you so much! I love that you're sharing your experience with me! Sheila is so awesome. I really love her. She is such a caring and giving person. I have very much been blessed in being able to know her better.

Thank you for your kind words and encouragement. I agree-- I don't show much weight in my face. People were even shocked when I showed pictures in my lower 200's... I carry all of my junk in my trunk, as you youngsters say...

You are beautiful, no matter what you say, do words get in the way?
I think your wedding ring is going to slip off before you are done with this journey...It LOOKS like it anyway.

jemmi said...

Cleo, you are something else! First you make us laugh by entertaining us with your quick wit, sass & sarcasm on the fringes, then you stun and inspire us by your 2008 weight loss!

I looked at the numbers, and honestly, I went over the dates and weights at least three more times, as I was certain I wasn't seeing them correctly, and/or there were some typos that slipped by. LOL WOWOWOWOW!!

And all this from scarfing down some pizza made on an Oopsie? Dangarooties!

I haven't tried your Oopsies yet as I was trying to find a substitute for cream cheese. I found it in Chevre. I'm going to give it a go, and hope mine will come out as good as yours.

Thanks again!

jemmi *_*
